Lurdo grota Inkakliuose

In 1914, on a high slope by the roadside, farmers in Inkakliai built an imitation of the Lourdes Grotto with a statue of the Virgin Mary and a spring.
According to locals, a black stone from the rock of Christ’s tomb—brought from Jerusalem by Prelate J. Maciejauskas—was embedded at the base of the statue, near the feet of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Next to the grotto is a well, into which, people say, water from the original Lourdes Grotto in France was poured. This spring water is believed to be miraculous.
Later, a brick chapel was built beside it. The grotto was renovated in 1989.
