European Heritage Days in Švėkšna 2025

The theme of the 2025 European Heritage Days is “Architectural Heritage: A Window to the Past, a Door to the Future.”
Events across Lithuania will invite people to look at our country’s architectural heritage from a new perspective. The theme covers a wide spectrum – from the functions of buildings such as religious, commercial, or industrial, to structures that hold memory or symbolic significance. Moreover, the theme provides an opportunity to reveal personal stories hidden behind thick concrete walls.
During the event, the publication “ŠVĖKŠNA: An Architectural Guide” (compiled by Monika Žąsytienė, illustrated by Egidijus Vidrinskas) will be presented, followed by a tour of Švėkšna with Dr. Vaidotas Petrulis, Head of the KTU ASI Centre for Architecture and Urbanism Research, and museum curator Monika Žąsytienė.
The event will begin on September 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the synagogue (Liepų a. 12, Švėkšna).
