Ethnographic Fisherman’s Homestead-Museum

The Ethnographic Fisherman’s Homestead-Museum of Kazimieras Banys was established in 1997 as a typical homestead of a fishing farmer. The homestead houses a rich collection of old, now unused items: fishing and household tools, furniture, work instruments, clothing, and more. Learning the stories and purposes of each would take considerable time. This homestead is over 200 years old.
The purpose of the ethnographic homestead is to transport present and future generations interested in the island’s past back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The exhibition introduces visitors to the lifestyle and activities of a typical farmer-fisherman of the Pamarys region.
Note: This site is privately owned and visits are limited (closed on working days; prior arrangement required).
