Arts and Traditions Festival “Mykolas’ Bridges” in Žemaičių Naumiestis

From September 22–26, 2025, the Arts and Traditions Festival “Mykolas’ Bridges” (“Mykolo tiltai”) will take place in Žemaičių Naumiestis.

Programme:

September 22 (Monday)
Town and Cultural Center.
16:00 – Guided tour of the town center by museum curator Saulius Sodonis. Ending with a photography exhibition by Julius Macnorius.
18:00 – Conference “Ideas for Žemaičių Naumiestis” (“Idėjos Žemaičių Naumiesčiui”).*

September 23 (Tuesday)
Former Synagogue.
17:00 – Exhibition by animation master Ilja Bereznickas, animated films.
18:00 – Live music concert with video installation (pianist Darius Mažintas, video – Andrius Seliuta von Rath, Dali Rust).*

September 24 (Wednesday)
Evangelical Lutheran Church.
17:00 – Walk with priest Valdas Miliauskas through the church and parish house. Textile exhibition by Žydrė Ridulytė.
18:00 – Exhibition of ceramic sound sculptures and performance “Ancestor Drones” (“Protėvių dronai”) by artist Elena Laurinavičiūtė.*

September 25 (Thursday)
Church of St. Archangel Michael.
16:00 – Stories by priest Stanislovas Anužis about the church’s treasures and organ. Joint work of painter Rasa Užpelkytė and the local community – exhibition-gift of felted “pasėdukai”.
17:00 – Holy Mass. After Mass – concert with jazz pianist Saulius Šiaučiulis and poet Marijus Budraitis.*

September 26 (Friday)
Market Square.
10:00 – Grand checkers tournament of Market Day (organized by priest Stanislovas Anužis).*
Caricature drawings by Ilja Bereznickas.
11:00 – Photo session by the newly created street art mural by Pidžin and Duona on the Cultural Center building.
12:00 – Exhibition by textile artist Rasa Užpelkytė in the library.
13:00 – Guided town tour by museum curator Saulius Sodonis. Ending at the Blacksmithing Museum.
19:00 – Magic world show by magician Mantas Wizard! (After the performance – photo session with the magician, for whom Žemaičių Naumiestis is the treasure trove of childhood secrets and wonders.)

September 27 – Mykolinės (St. Michael’s Day Fair)
September 28 – St. Michael’s Indulgence Feast
