Festival “Keliaujanti vėtrungė” invites you to the convergence of the Ventė Cape and Nida lighthouses

Festivalio „Keliaujanti vėtrungė“

On August 16 at 21:00, the festival “Keliaujanti vėtrungė”, organized by the national cultural route “Vėtrungių Kelias” and Šilutė Cultural Centre, returns to one of the most beautiful places of Lithuania Minor – Ventė. By the historic lighthouse, music, dance, light and nature will create an unforgettable atmosphere that cannot be experienced anywhere else.
This year’s theme is “a journey connecting shores, stories, light and darkness, humans and nature”. It is a symbolic path between everyday life and a special experience, where the Ventė Cape lighthouse and the surrounding open space become a unique stage for both artists and visitors.
In the evening program, the audience will hear one of Lithuania’s brightest cello masters, concertmaster of the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra Mindaugas Bačkus. The evening’s soundscape will be enriched by the young-generation singer Justina Dirgėlaitė, featuring poetry by dramatist Mindaugas Valiukas and music composed by Marius Salynas. Dance ensemble ULNA Company will present their latest dance performance “From Silence”. It is a sensitive movement narrative about inner listening, stillness, silence, and the relationship between humans and their environment.
The highlight of the evening is the now‑traditional convergence of the Ventė Cape and Nida lighthouses. With both lighthouses illuminated simultaneously, they become a symbolic accent – a connection between two shores and an invitation to return to a place that creates history.
“Ventė Cape is more than a place on the map – it is our cultural and emotional junction. We want this event to become an experience where art and nature merge, and the audience leaves with inner light,” says festival coordinator Viktorija Binkulienė.
This evening is an opportunity not only to experience a unique artistic atmosphere, but to feel Lithuania Minor through silence, light, body, sound, and horizon.
