Stempliai Manor

In 1820, after the sons of Jurgis Plater divided the Švėkšna estate, Count Kazimieras Plater established a manor on the outskirts of the village of Stempliai.
Writer Simonas Stanevičius lived at Stemplės Manor for 12 years, overseeing the library left behind by his patron Jurgis Plater.
Stemplės Manor has survived to this day. It is located about 2 km north of the village.
Three buildings remain: a single-story wooden residential house with a mansard roof on a stone foundation, a wooden granary, and a clay-walled barn with a gabled roof.
The manor house has been repainted orange and is surrounded by trees; a large granary structure, although decaying, still stands.
Today, the site is privately owned and operated as a farm.
