The Great Kintai Thuja

The largest thuja in Lithuania grows in Kintai, next to the forest district building. It reaches about 19.5 meters in height and has a crown spread of approximately 12 meters. In Europe, only one taller thuja is known – in Switzerland. The age of the Great Kintai Thuja is unknown, as the tree has two trunks, making it impossible to determine its age by counting rings.
It is known that the forest office building was constructed between 1902 and 1912, and it is presumed that the Great Thuja was planted around the same time.
