In 1856, a small wooden church was built in Vainutas. Bishop Motiejus Valan\u010dius criticized it and encouraged the construction of a masonry church, promising to provide a project. Construction of the new brick church began in 1860. However, the design by engineer Dambrauskas disappeared during the 1863 uprising, and in 1864 the authorities halted construction. After many petitions, permission was granted again in 1866. By 1869, a new church in Neo-Baroque style was completed and furnished.
The church is rectangular in plan, has two towers and an apse. It houses three altars. The churchyard is enclosed by a stone masonry fence. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
