Every spring, the Neman River floods the lowlands of Rusn\u0117 surroundings. To cope with this, a bridge was built in 1926 across the flood channel.<br>This unique bridge does not connect two riverbanks \u2014 it is designed solely to allow spring meltwaters to flow through. The structure features 13 arches and spans 289 meters in length.<br>On June 17, 2016, to mark the 90th anniversary of the bridge&#8217;s construction, a commemorative relief plaque with a portrait of President Kazys Grinius was unveiled.
