Before World War I, a beautiful brick building was constructed on the site of a former wooden inn (known as the \u201cUpper Inn\u201d), which became the \u201cVilla Werden\u201d (Villa Verdain\u0117) restaurant. The yard was planted with various trees and shrubs. In summer, tables and chairs stood outside, and it became a favorite place for \u0160ilokar\u010dema residents to enjoy coffee or fine drinks.
A spacious brick hall with a stage was built in the yard, where amateur plays, concerts, lively dances, meetings, and banquets were held year-round. Verdain\u0117 restaurant owned one of the first radios in the Klaip\u0117da Region. From 1924, guests could enjoy music and broadcasts from K\u00f6nigsberg, Berlin, London, and others.
On January 19, 1923, the \u0160ilut\u0117 Assembly gathered in this restaurant. More than 120 representatives of the Supreme Committee for the Salvation of Lithuania Minor and cultural and economic organizations of the Klaip\u0117da Region adopted and signed the declaration for the Klaip\u0117da Region\u2019s accession to the restored Lithuanian state with autonomous rights. The document also outlined key principles for future life. <\/p>

After the war, in 1946, the building housed the Pag\u0117giai-\u0160ilut\u0117 road maintenance division, succeeded by \u0160ilut\u0117 Road Maintenance Company. Today, UAB \u201c\u0160ilut\u0117s automobili\u0173 keliai\u201d operates here.
A commemorative plaque marks the place where the declaration of Klaip\u0117da\u2019s autonomy was signed. The historic moment is highlighted by an artistic light installation called \u201cThe Delegates\u201d, depicting the leaders of the committee: Vilius \u0160aulinskis, Martynas Jankus, Jonas Vanagaitis, Jurgis L\u0117bartas, and Jurgis Br\u016bvelaitis. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
