The Klaip\u0117da\u2013Tilsit railway began construction in the spring of 1872 and was completed on July 1, 1875. The railway station was built in the village of \u017dibai, and for that reason was called the \u017dibai-\u0160ilokar\u010dema station. It had all the necessary facilities: station buildings, a water supply system, residential houses for railway workers, and a small depot for locomotive maintenance.
The modern-style complex of buildings was constructed in the late 19th to early 20th century and is a protected cultural heritage site. It consists of brick buildings of one to two stories, featuring a stepped structure. The central part of the building is two stories high; the southern wing is one story, and the northern is two. On the eastern side lies the station platform. Entrances are located on both the east and west sides. The second floor contains five residential apartments. The original layout of structural walls remains, though the rooms now serve different purposes.
