Rusnė is one of the oldest settlements in the Nemunas Delta, founded in the fifteenth century and the only Lithuania’s town in the island, famous for the beauty of nature, a variety of birds, spring floods. The Nemunas Delta environs attract bird watchers and nature lovers. Rusnė is a border town as, across the river, there is the Kaliningrad Oblast. Besides Rusnė town there are Vorusnė, Šyškrantė, Pakalnė, Uostadvaris and Skirvytėlė villages.
Travelers are attracted to Rusnė for the old wooden architecture, old buildings. The old fishing traditions are reborn here – Rusnė fishermen‘s sailing boat is rebuilt according to the old drawings.
